Description
A pair of 10 gram setting weights that mount to the front steering knuckles on Kyosho's Inferno MP9 and MP10.
Weight at the front knuckle sits directly above the front contact patches, so it raises the static load on the front tires. Load generates grip, and the practical result is more steering, especially on corner entry and through the middle where a 1/8 buggy commonly runs short of front bite. Kyosho describes the purpose directly: the weights attach to the front knuckle to increase tire load and change steering response.
At 10 grams each this is the middle of Kyosho's three steps, adding 20 grams across the front axle. It is a substantial, clearly felt change rather than a fine adjustment, and it is the usual next move when the 5 gram version has helped but not enough on a dry or dusty track.
The trade-offs are more unsprung mass for the front suspension to manage over bumps, and slightly slower direction changes. Because it loads one end only, it also shifts the car's front-to-rear balance rather than just adding weight. Five and fifteen gram versions are available. Two weights are supplied.
