Description
This is the rear wheel shaft for Kyosho's Inferno platform, the axle that runs through the rear hub carrier and carries the wheel.
The wheel shaft is the final link in the drivetrain. It takes drive from the swing shaft, passes through the hub bearings, and carries the drive pin that turns the wheel. Everything the motor or engine produces reaches the ground through it, and it does that while supporting the entire cornering and landing load of that corner of the car.
Wear and damage both matter here. A bent shaft makes the wheel run out of true, which you feel as vibration at speed and which destroys the hub bearings quickly. A worn drive pin slot lets the wheel move relative to the shaft, producing a knock under power that gets progressively worse. Either condition is worth fixing before it takes the bearings and hub with it.
This is the genuine Kyosho part at the original dimensions, so it works with the standard bearings, drive pins and wheel nuts without shimming. Kyosho lists it for the Inferno MP-7.5, MP-777 and Inferno GT, with dealers adding the GT2, Inferno VE and NEO.
