Description
This is Kyosho's hard specification rear short shock stay for the Inferno MP9, drilled for M-size medium-length shocks.
The shock stay is the tower the upper ends of both rear shocks bolt to, so it anchors the entire rear damping system. Its rigidity directly affects how the shocks behave: a stay that flexes absorbs part of every damping input before it reaches the chassis, and worse, it can let the two shocks work at slightly different rates side to side. The hard specification addresses exactly that, holding the shock mounting points solid so the rear suspension responds consistently.
The short height combined with M-size shock mounting is a setup choice rather than just a service part. It changes the shock angle and the leverage ratio the suspension works at, which alters how progressive the rear end feels. Kyosho describes this stay as essential equipment depending on track conditions, which is a fair way to put it.
Kyosho lists it as standard equipment on the MP9 TKI3 and as an option part on earlier MP9 cars. It supersedes the earlier IFW408. Fitment covers the full MP9 and MP9e family including MP9e Evo.
