Description
A pack of ten shock O-rings measuring 1.9 x 3.4mm, sized for Kyosho's 3.5mm diameter shock shafts.
Shock O-rings are the most important consumable on any oil-filled damper. They ride directly on the moving shaft, which means they work against friction on every single stroke, and they harden and wear from that combined with heat cycling and long exposure to shock oil.
When they go, the shock does not fail dramatically. It weeps oil slowly, the fluid level drops, air is drawn in and foams the oil, and damping quietly falls away over the course of a run. The car feels progressively worse and nothing looks broken. Because the symptoms creep in rather than announcing themselves, most racers rebuild seals on a schedule rather than waiting to notice, and doing all four shocks at once matters more than the absolute damping level because it keeps the car balanced side to side.
Ten are supplied, which covers a full set of shocks with spares. These are also the seals included in Kyosho's IFW140-05 rebuild kit. Fitment covers the Inferno MP9, MP10, MP-7.5 and MP777 shocks and the IF470 and IF471 shock sets.
