Description
This is the front bumper for Kyosho's Inferno platform.
The bumper is the first thing to make contact in almost every front-end impact, and that is exactly its job. It is designed to absorb and spread the load of hitting a pipe, a kerb or another car so that the force does not go straight into the front bulkhead, the suspension holders and the chassis plate behind it. Those are expensive parts and slow to replace; the bumper is cheap and quick.
Because it is sacrificial by design, it is also a genuine consumable. A bumper that has cracked, split at the mounting points or gone brittle with age and fuel exposure stops spreading load properly and starts transmitting impacts straight through to the chassis. Replacing one that is past its best is one of the cheapest pieces of insurance you can buy for a raced car.
This is the genuine Kyosho part, so it bolts to the standard mounting points without modification. It originated on the Inferno MP-7.5 and MP-777, and Kyosho lists it for the Inferno NEO 3.0, NEO ST 3.0 and NEO 4.0 including the VE variants.
