Description
A pair of suspension shafts measuring 3mm in diameter by 38mm long, for the front lower arms on Kyosho's Inferno platform.
Suspension shafts, also called hinge pins, are the pins the arms pivot on. They carry every load the suspension generates through a very small diameter and have to stay perfectly straight while doing it. A bent pin makes the arm bind so it no longer moves freely through its travel, and the symptoms are misleading: the suspension feels stiff, damping goes inconsistent, and most people chase it through shocks and springs before thinking to check the pins.
They wear as well as bend, and a worn pin lets the arm develop play, which shows up at the wheel as camber and toe that shift under load.
Length is the only thing separating this from the other shafts in the IF111 family, so ordering the right one matters. This is the 38mm shaft for the front lower arm at the hub carrier end. Kyosho lists it across the Inferno NEO through NEO 4.0, Inferno VE, Inferno GT2 and GT2 VE Race Spec, the Inferno NEO ST Race Spec and the Psycho Kruiser VE.
