O-rings are what keep oil inside the differentials and shocks and grit outside them. They compress, harden, and take a set over time, and a tired o-ring will seep long before it visibly fails. Since a leaking diff or shock changes how the truck behaves well before you spot the oil, fresh seals are worth fitting as routine maintenance rather than waiting for symptoms.
