Description
The Traxxas 9456 is a 56-tooth spur gear in 32-pitch, designed to fit 2WD models equipped with the Torque Control Slipper Clutch.
Spur gears let you fine-tune the performance of a Traxxas model. Changing the gear ratio balances acceleration against top speed for different running conditions: more teeth on the spur shift the ratio toward stronger acceleration, fewer teeth toward higher top speed. At 56 teeth this is the shorter of the two 32-pitch options in this group, trading some top end for punch out of corners. That is usually the better choice on tight or technical tracks, on loose surfaces, and on heavier vehicles that need help getting moving.
Shorter gearing also tends to run cooler, since the motor and speed control are not fighting as hard to accelerate the vehicle. If a setup is running hot, moving to a larger spur is one of the standard fixes.
Traxxas recommends consulting your owner's manual for the recommended gearing options for your specific model, as safe ranges differ between vehicles and power systems. Must be paired with a 32-pitch pinion. Genuine Traxxas part.
