The Traxxas 9181 is the Outer Driveline and Suspension Upgrade Kit for the Slash 2WD, in black — the extreme heavy duty package that hardens the truck's most failure-prone components in one purchase.
The stock outer driveline and suspension parts are engineered for the power the truck ships with. Add a hotter motor, bigger battery or simply drive harder, and the caster blocks, steering blocks, stub axle carriers and associated hardware become the weak links. This kit replaces them with extreme heavy duty versions designed to take sustained abuse.
Buying the complete kit rather than individual pieces matters for two reasons: the components are engineered to work together, and the kit is the prerequisite that the individual EHD replacement parts (9136 caster blocks, 9137 steering blocks, 9150 carriers) are designed around — their listings all specify "for use with #9181 upgrade kit."
Color versions are available (blue, gray, green, orange, red) under 9181 color-suffix part numbers to match your truck's accent scheme.
