The Traxxas 9065-GRAY is a pair of aluminum stub axle carriers that add the strength of 6061-T6 alloy with a beautifully anodized finish without compromising suspension geometry. Includes 3x28 mm hinge pins (2) and 3x15 mm screws (2).

The phrase worth noting is "without compromising suspension geometry." Aluminum upgrades sometimes shift pivot positions slightly as a side effect of the material change, which alters how the suspension behaves. These are dimensioned to match the geometry they replace, so the gain is purely in strength and rigidity rather than a trade against handling.

Stub axle carriers hold the rear wheel assemblies and house the bearings the axles ride on. Their rigidity determines whether the rear wheels stay properly aligned under load. Composite carriers flex as cornering forces build, and that deflection changes rear geometry exactly when the vehicle needs it to stay put.

Billet machining also delivers tighter bearing seats than moulded parts, so bearings sit properly, last longer, and the axles stay concentric instead of developing play.
