The Traxxas 9038T is a replacement front shock tower for vehicles equipped with the Extreme Heavy Duty Upgrade Kit.

The front shock tower carries the upper mounting points for the front shocks, so every load the front suspension generates passes through it into the chassis. It is also directly exposed in a front-end impact, which makes it one of the more commonly damaged structural components on a hard-run vehicle.

A cracked tower is easy to overlook and causes problems that are difficult to diagnose. As the crack opens under load the upper shock mount shifts, changing damping behaviour and effective ride height without anything looking wrong when the vehicle is sitting still. Drivers often chase setup for weeks before finding it.

The tower also carries the mounting holes used to adjust shock position, so its integrity determines whether a setup change actually stays where it was made.
