Traxxas 9037 Black Extreme Heavy-Duty Steering Blocks

The Traxxas 9037 is a pair of replacement left and right steering blocks for the Extreme Heavy Duty Upgrade Kit, supplied with 3x20 mm screws (2).

Steering blocks carry the front wheels, house the wheel bearings, and pivot to steer the vehicle. That places them in the load path of every steering input and every front-end impact at once, which is why they are among the most frequently replaced components on a hard-run 4X4.

These are the composite replacements rather than an upgrade part. If you run the 9080 kit and have cracked a steering block, this restores it at a fraction of the cost of the machined alternative. Traxxas also offers aluminum steering blocks for the same kit under the 9064 series at roughly seven times the price, so the choice is between a like-for-like repair and a permanent strength upgrade.

Within the Extreme HD system the composite blocks act as the sacrificial element, absorbing energy that would otherwise reach the caster blocks or bulkhead. That makes them a genuine consumable worth stocking.
