Description
The Traxxas 8456 is a set of four machined aluminum shock caps with a black anodized finish, made for the Fox shocks on the 1/7 scale Unlimited Desert Racer. They are a direct replacement for the stock caps.
Shock caps take a beating on a truck this size. They seal the top of the shock body against the bladder, and a cap that gets cross-threaded, scarred, or over-torqued during a rebuild will weep oil and cost you damping consistency. Machined aluminum construction holds thread precision far better than plastic through repeated rebuild cycles, which matters on a vehicle whose eight shocks all need periodic service.
The black anodized finish is the low-key option among the color choices, blending into the shock towers rather than standing out. Sold as a set of four — enough for half the truck's shocks, so plan on two sets for a complete refresh. Package includes four aluminum shock caps.
