Description
The Traxxas 8322X is a replacement chassis for the 4-Tec 2.0 or 4-Tec Drift.
The chassis is the foundation everything else bolts to. It locates the bulkheads, suspension mounts, motor, electronics, and battery, and its flex characteristics are a significant part of how the car handles. On a low-slung on-road platform the chassis also acts as the underbody, so it takes direct abrasion from the ground on every scrape and bottom-out.
Replacing one is a major job, but it is also the only real fix once a chassis is cracked or worn through. A damaged chassis lets the whole car flex in ways it was never designed to, which produces handling that cannot be tuned out no matter what is changed elsewhere. Drivers frequently chase setup problems for weeks before discovering the chassis is the cause.
Worn-through mounting holes are the other common failure. Once a screw boss elongates, components mounted there start shifting under load, and no amount of retightening restores the original location.
This is a genuine Traxxas part, so hole positions and geometry match the factory design exactly, and every existing component transfers across without modification. It fits both the 4-Tec 2.0 and the 4-Tec Drift, so one part number covers either chassis.
