These small parts do disproportionately important work. The motor mount washers spread the clamping load from the mounting screws across the motor mount surface. Without that load spreading, the screw heads dig into the mount over time, the boss deforms, and the motor slowly shifts — which shows up as gear mesh that keeps drifting out of adjustment no matter how carefully you set it. On an 8S truck where the motor is fighting hard against its mounts under every throttle punch, this is a real and common problem.

Machined aluminum washers resist that deformation far better than the stock parts, and because they sit right at the top of the motor mount they're also one of the more visible small details on the chassis. The black anodized finish disappears into a stealth build and hides the inevitable dirt and grease better than bright colors do.
