Description
The Traxxas 7539 is a set of camber rods for the LaTrax Rally, supplied as six 2-degree rods and six 3-degree rods, allowing you to tune handling by changing camber.
Camber determines how much of the tyre contact patch stays planted through cornering. More negative camber keeps the outside tyre flatter under cornering load, which increases grip through the turn at the cost of straight-line traction. Less camber does the reverse.
The approach here is different from turnbuckle adjustment. Rather than threading a link in or out, you swap in a rod of the required angle, which means the setting is exact and repeatable rather than something you have to measure. It also cannot drift out of adjustment after an impact, since there is nothing to loosen.
Getting both angles in one package is the useful part. Twelve rods in two specifications means you can set the car up, try it, and change your mind without another order, and it covers both ends of the car with spares left over.
Camber is one of the highest-impact handling adjustments available and one of the cheapest to make. At this price it is worth having on the shelf simply to experiment with.
