Description
This is the genuine Traxxas gear cover with wire retainer for the Rustler 4X4.
The gear cover shields the spur gear and pinion mesh from rocks, grass, and debris. An exposed gear mesh picks up grit that grinds away gear teeth in a few runs, and a single pebble caught between spur and pinion can strip the spur instantly. The cover is cheap; the gears and motor behind it are not.
The integrated wire retainer keeps the motor leads routed away from the moving driveline, preventing the chafed insulation and cut wires that come from leads rubbing against a spinning spur gear.
A cracked or missing cover is worth replacing before the next run, not after the spur gear fails. This is a direct factory replacement for the Rustler 4X4. Package includes gear cover and wire retainer.
