Description
The Traxxas 7474 is a pair of 0.58-rate shock springs for 1/10 scale short GTR shocks. They are made from high-quality spring steel with a durable powder-coated finish, so they hold their rate and resist corrosion through repeated compression cycles and wet running.
GTR springs are offered in a range of rates so you can tune suspension performance or compensate for lighter or heavier vehicle configurations. The rule is simple: the higher the rate, the stiffer the spring. At 0.58 this is the softest of the three rates in this group, which makes it the choice for a lighter truck, for softer overall damping, or for maximising mechanical grip on low-traction and bumpy surfaces where a stiff setup skates rather than hooks up.
Spring rate is one of the few genuinely cheap ways to change how a vehicle handles. Swapping rates costs a fraction of new shocks and takes minutes, which is why serious drivers keep several rates on the shelf and change them to suit the track rather than settling for one compromise setup.
