Description
The Traxxas 7473X is a pair of Rally tires pre-glued and mounted with foam inserts to 12-spoke Rally wheels.
Rally tires offer superior traction on pavement, dirt, gravel, and more through a unique directional tread pattern captured in high-grip rubber. That surface versatility is the point of a rally tire: it has to work on tarmac and loose gravel within the same run, which is a different requirement from a dedicated on-road or off-road tire.
These are TSM-rated for high-speed applications. That rating matters if you are running Traxxas Stability Management, since the system depends on predictable tire behaviour to make its corrections.
They arrive pre-glued and mounted with foam inserts already fitted. Hand-gluing is slow, messy work and a poor joint lets the tire unseat from the rim under cornering load. The foam insert supports the carcass and controls how it deforms, which is what keeps the tire predictable on changing surfaces.
Fitment: 12 mm hex, 4WD front or rear, 2WD rear only. On a 2WD vehicle you will need a separate front pair.
Note that Traxxas also offers this wheel with ultra-soft S1-compound tires under 7473R, which is the softer option for maximum grip.
