Description
The Traxxas 7473R is a pair of Rally tires in ultra-soft S1-compound rubber, pre-glued and mounted with foam inserts to 12-spoke Rally wheels.
The S1 compound is what sets this apart from the rest of the 7473 range. The other wheel-and-tire sets in this family use standard high-grip rubber; this one uses ultra-soft S1. Softer compound means more mechanical grip, particularly on smooth or low-traction surfaces, at the cost of faster wear on abrasive ground. If you are racing and want maximum bite, this is the set. If you are running mixed surfaces regularly, the standard compound lasts considerably longer.
Rally tires offer superior traction on pavement, dirt, gravel, and more through a unique directional tread pattern. That versatility across surfaces is what defines a rally tire.
They arrive pre-glued and mounted with foam inserts fitted, so there is no gluing work. The foam supports the carcass and controls how it deforms under load, which matters more with a soft compound since the rubber itself offers less structural support.
Fitment: 12 mm hex, 4WD front or rear, 2WD rear only.
