Description
The Traxxas 7467-STGRY is a pair of XX-long 1/10 scale GTR threaded composite shock bodies, sold as a pair.
The shock body is the cylinder that holds the oil and the piston, and its condition directly determines whether the damper works properly. Scored, cracked, or distorted bodies leak oil past the seals and produce inconsistent damping, which shows up as a vehicle that handles differently from one run to the next. Replacing the body restores the shock to correct operation.
These are threaded bodies, which is the significant feature. The threading lets you adjust spring preload by turning the collar up or down the body, so ride height and initial spring load can be set precisely without swapping springs or adding spacers. That makes corner-by-corner ride height adjustment straightforward.
The XX-long designation refers to the body length, so these suit applications calling for maximum suspension travel. Check that your shocks are the XX-long variant before ordering, since GTR bodies come in several lengths and they are not interchangeable.
Composite construction keeps unsprung weight down compared with aluminium alternatives, and Traxxas also offers aluminium versions of this body at a higher price point if outright durability is the priority. Genuine Traxxas part.
