Description
The Traxxas 7439 is a pair of 77 mm centre-to-centre composite toe links, supplied assembled with hollow balls.
These are the fixed-length option. Because the geometry is preset there is nothing to measure, thread, or adjust: install them and the toe setting is correct. There is also nothing to shift out of adjustment after a hard impact, which is a genuine advantage on a car that gets crashed regularly.
Composite construction means they are lighter than steel and will flex or break before transmitting a big impact further into the suspension. That is a design choice rather than a shortcoming: a broken link has absorbed energy that would otherwise have reached the steering blocks or bulkhead, both of which cost more to replace.
The trade-off against the adjustable steel version is tuning. Traxxas lists adjustable steel toe links at the same 77 mm centre-to-centre measurement under 7433, which allow toe to be dialled in between runs. Choose those if you want to tune, these if you want a cheap, reliable, correct-geometry replacement.
They arrive assembled with hollow balls fitted, so installation is straightforward.
