Description
The Traxxas 6990 is a body reinforcement set for 6958-series Slash bodies. On a clipless body the reinforcements are the structural backbone of the mounting system, spreading the loads generated by the latches across a wide area of the shell instead of letting stress concentrate at a handful of small holes. That distribution is what keeps mounting points from elongating and tearing out under repeated hard landings and rolls.
Reinforcements are a wear item by design. They are meant to take the abuse so the polycarbonate does not. Once one cracks or works loose, the body begins moving under load, latches stop seating properly, and the damage escalates from a cheap part into a ruined shell. Catching it early and swapping the set is the difference between a small repair and a new body.
This is a direct replacement for the factory reinforcements, sized specifically for 6958-series Slash bodies. It fits the existing locations with no trimming or drilling of the shell required.
