Description
The Traxxas 6952 is a replacement body reinforcement set with latch mounts for 6958-series Slash bodies. On a clipless body, the reinforcements and latch mounts are what carry the load: they spread the stress of the clipless latching system across a wider area of the shell instead of concentrating it at a few small points. That is what stops the mounting holes from elongating and tearing out after repeated hard landings and rolls.
These pieces take a beating precisely because they are doing their job. Once a reinforcement cracks or a latch mount pulls loose, the body starts shifting under load, latches stop seating cleanly, and the damage progresses quickly into the polycarbonate itself. Replacing the reinforcement set is far cheaper than replacing the body.
This is a direct replacement for the factory parts, matching the original fitment on 6958-series Slash bodies. It installs in the existing locations with no modification to the shell. Traxxas lists this as a reinforcement set with latch mounts. Worth keeping on hand as a spare, since it is a consumable part on any truck that sees real running time.
