Description
The Traxxas 6870 is a pair of licensed Kumho short course tires supplied with matching foam inserts. These are tires only, sold unmounted, so they are the economical choice when your wheels are still in good shape and only the rubber is worn.
The tread is a scale reproduction of the full-size Kumho light-truck pattern. Compared to an open mud-terrain lug, the blocks sit closer together and cover more of the carcass, which puts more rubber on the ground. That makes it a strong all-around tire on packed dirt, groomed clay and hard-packed surfaces, and a good match for drivers who run mostly on prepared or semi-prepared ground rather than deep mud.
Sizing is the short course dual-profile standard at 4.3 x 1.7 inches, measuring 2.2 inches at the outer bead and 3.0 inches inside. The included foam inserts support the sidewall under load and control how the tire deforms in corners and on landings.
This is a standard-compound tire, so it lasts considerably longer than the ultra-soft S1 racing version while still providing solid traction. Tires require gluing to the wheel before use.
Fits: Traxxas Slayer Pro 4X4 (model 59076-3) and other short course models using dual-profile wheels.
