Pinion size is the single easiest gearing change you can make. A smaller pinion gives quicker acceleration and lower motor temperatures; a larger pinion raises top speed but increases the load on the motor and ESC. Changing pinion lets you match the truck to how and where you actually run it rather than living with one fixed compromise.
Important: Traxxas specifies this pinion for use only with steel spur gears.
Fits: Traxxas XRT (78086-4) and XRT Ultimate (78097-4), and other Traxxas models using a 5mm motor shaft with 1.0 metric pitch gearing.
Monitor motor and ESC temperatures after any gearing change.
