Description
The Traxxas 5976R is a pair of assembled and pre-glued tire and wheel units pairing an SCT Split-Spoke beadlock-style wheel with a licensed Kumho tire in the ultra-soft S1 racing compound, complete with foam inserts.
The Kumho tread is a scale reproduction of the full-size Kumho light-truck pattern, with a tighter, more closely spaced block layout than a mud-terrain design. That gives it a larger effective contact patch and makes it a strong performer on packed dirt, groomed clay and indoor surfaces where a big open-lug tire would squirm.
Running that pattern in the S1 compound is the aggressive combination. S1 is the softest compound Traxxas offers and delivers noticeably more mechanical grip, at the cost of tread life on abrasive tracks. It is a race-day tire rather than a bashing tire.
The wheels use standard short course dual-profile sizing, 2.2 inches at the outer bead and 3.0 inches inside. The beadlock ring is molded styling, not functional hardware, so no assembly is needed.
These are a performance upgrade over the stock all-purpose tires. They arrive glued with inserts installed and mount straight to the hex.
