Traxxas 5871R SCT Ultra-Soft Racing Tires

The Traxxas 5871R is a pair of SCT off-road racing tires in the ultra-soft S1 compound, supplied with foam inserts. These are tires only, sold unmounted, for drivers replacing rubber on wheels that are still in good shape.

The tread is the same balanced short course pattern used on the standard Traxxas racing tire, with lug spacing that clears loose dirt without becoming unpredictable on harder surfaces. What changes here is the rubber itself.

S1 is the softest compound in the Traxxas range. It deforms more readily around surface texture, which raises mechanical grip noticeably on clay, loam and medium-bite tracks, and it warms up faster in cooler conditions. The cost is tread life: on abrasive or high-grip surfaces an S1 tire wears far quicker than a standard-compound one. Most racers keep a set for qualifying and mains and run harder rubber during practice.

Sizing is the short course dual-profile standard at 4.3 x 1.7 inches, measuring 2.2 inches at the outer bead and 3.0 inches inside. The foam inserts control sidewall deflection under cornering load and on landings.

This is a performance-oriented alternative to the stock tires. Tires require gluing to the wheel before use.

Fits: Traxxas Slayer Pro 4X4 (model 59076-3) and other short course models using dual-profile wheels.
