Traxxas 5871 SCT Off-Road Racing Tires

The Traxxas 5871 is a pair of SCT off-road racing tires supplied with foam inserts. These are tires only, sold unmounted, which makes them the cost-effective way to refresh traction when your existing wheels are still in good condition.

This is the general-purpose Traxxas short course tread, the pattern fitted to the truck from the factory. The lug layout is a balanced compromise rather than a specialist design: enough spacing to clear loose dirt and grass, enough block area to stay predictable on hardpack and pavement. For drivers who bash across mixed terrain instead of running a single prepared surface, it is usually the most sensible tire on the shelf.

Sizing follows the short course dual-profile standard at 4.3 x 1.7 inches, measuring 2.2 inches at the outer bead and 3.0 inches inside. The included foam inserts support the sidewall, controlling how the carcass folds under cornering load and how it absorbs landings.

These use the standard compound, so tread life is considerably longer than the ultra-soft S1 racing version. This is a direct replacement for the stock tires rather than a performance upgrade. Tires require gluing to the wheel before use.
