Description
The Traxxas 5870 is a pair of SCT chrome wheels with a red beadlock-style ring for the 2WD front position, supplied as wheels only without tires or foam inserts.
Check the fitment before ordering. On a 2WD Slash the front wheels are narrower than the rears, since the front axle carries no drive load and the narrower track improves steering feel. This is the front-only wheel; the rear and 4X4 equivalent in this red beadlock finish is 5868.
Order these when your front tires still have usable tread but a rim has cracked, chipped at the bead flange, or been gouged past the point of holding glue. A damaged bead edge lets a glued tire creep under cornering load however carefully it is re-glued, so replacing the wheel and reusing sound rubber is the economical repair.
Sizing follows the short course dual-profile standard, 2.2 inches at the outer bead and 3.0 inches inside, which does not interchange with standard 2.2 or 3.0 inch wheels. The beadlock ring is molded styling rather than functional hardware.
