Description
The Traxxas 5831-STGRY is the low-CG lower chassis for the Slash 2WD, molded in steel gray.
The low-CG setup uses a two-piece chassis. This is the lower half — the plate that carries the battery and sits closest to the ground — so it absorbs every hard landing and every rock the truck drags across. It is the part most often replaced on a low-CG truck.
It pairs with a low-CG upper chassis: 5832-BLK, 5832-BLUE, 5832-DGRY or 5832-STGRY. It does not fit the standard Slash chassis. For a conversion rather than a repair, the 5830 conversion kit covers the swap.
Replace it when the plate has cracked, skidded thin, or bent enough that the suspension no longer sits square — which typically shows up as a truck pulling to one side regardless of alignment. Steel gray is the lighter of the two gray finishes; the darker option is 5831-DGRY.
