Grease is one of those supplies that's easy to overlook until something fails. Inside a differential, grease coats the gear faces and cushions the meshing teeth, cutting wear and quieting operation. On a truck putting 8S power through steel diffs, that film is doing serious work — running a diff dry or with the wrong lubricant is a fast route to stripped gears and an expensive rebuild.
This formulation is designed for the pressures and temperatures RC drivetrains actually see, which is why it's worth using rather than substituting whatever grease is in the garage. The 30cc tube is enough for multiple diff services, and having it on the shelf means routine maintenance doesn't get postponed for want of supplies. It's also useful anywhere you want a durable, load-carrying film: gear covers, thrust washers, and similar contact points.
