The Traxxas 3018R is the waterproof XL-5 electronic speed control, delivering all-weather running while supplying power smoothly to the motor. This high-performance ESC packs features normally found on more expensive high-end replacement units.

The completely waterproof design is the headline. It means wet grass, puddles, and rain stop being reasons to park the vehicle, and it removes the anxiety that comes with running a non-sealed ESC anywhere near moisture.

Three throttle profiles let the power delivery be matched to conditions and driver skill. Low voltage detection protects LiPo packs from being over-discharged, which is the most common way an expensive battery gets ruined. Thermal Shutdown Protection guards the ESC itself against heat damage during hard running rather than letting it cook.

It is compatible with 4-7 cell NiMH and 2-cell LiPo packs and includes a built-in BEC to power the receiver and servo, so no separate battery eliminator is needed.
