Description
The Traxxas 2059 is a replacement metal gear set that restores the performance of a 2057 servo. It includes bushings and lithium grease.
Servo gears are the most common failure point in any servo. The gear train converts the motor's high-speed rotation into the torque that moves the steering, and it is the component that absorbs every impact transmitted back through the front wheels. A hard hit against a kerb or barrier travels up through the steering linkage and lands on these gears, which is why a stripped servo is such a familiar problem after a crash.
Symptoms are distinctive: the servo buzzes or grinds without moving, steering becomes intermittent, or there is a dead spot in one direction. Once teeth are stripped the servo will not recover on its own.
Rebuilding with this set is considerably cheaper than replacing the whole servo, and because the gears are metal rather than nylon they are more resistant to stripping in the first place. Bushings and lithium grease are included, so the rebuild is complete in one part number without needing to source lubricant separately.
Fitment is specific to the 2057 servo. Confirm which servo is in your vehicle before ordering, as Traxxas gear sets are not interchangeable between servo models. Genuine Traxxas replacement part.
