Description
The Traxxas 10852 is a pair of Mini GTR shock springs in 1.36 rate, made from high-quality spring steel with a natural finish.
GTR springs are offered in different rates to tune suspension performance or compensate for lighter or heavier vehicle configurations. The rule is straightforward: the higher the rate, the stiffer the spring.
Spring rate is the cheapest and fastest handling adjustment available. Softer springs generate more mechanical grip and absorb rough ground better; firmer springs reduce body roll, sharpen response, and stop the chassis bottoming out under heavier loads or on big landings. Swapping a pair takes minutes, which is why experienced drivers keep several rates on the shelf rather than settling for one compromise setup.
Weight is the other reason to change rate. Fitting a larger battery, aluminum hop-up parts, or heavier electronics loads the suspension beyond what the factory springs were chosen for, and moving up a rate restores the intended ride height and damping behaviour.
These are Mini GTR springs specifically, sized for Mini-scale shocks, so confirm your shocks take them before ordering. Traxxas spring lengths are not interchangeable between scales.
