Description
The Traxxas 10841 is a 24-tooth pinion gear in 32-pitch, sized for a 3mm motor shaft, supplied with its set screw. It fits the Mini XRT, Mini Maxx, Mini Rally VXL, and Mini Slash 4X4.
Pinion size is the easiest and cheapest tuning change available. Going up a tooth raises top speed and softens punch off the line; going down trades top end for acceleration and — importantly — keeps motor and ESC temperatures under control. Anyone running higher cell counts, grippier tires, or hot weather ends up wanting a range of pinions on the bench.
At 24 tooth this sits near the top of the range, so it's the choice for open-ground speed runs rather than tight technical driving. Watch temps after fitting it, since taller gearing loads the motor harder. The neighbors in this family are #10840 (23T) and #10842 (25T). Package includes one pinion gear and set screw.
