Description
The Traxxas 10769R is an aluminum motor plate and gear cover for Mini vehicles, made from tough 6061-T6 aluminum for unbeatable toughness with a brilliant anodized finish. It is designed for extreme action.
The motor plate locates the motor relative to the spur gear, which means it sets the gear mesh. That single job matters enormously: a plate that flexes under load lets mesh vary as torque builds, which strips gears and produces the whining that signals a drivetrain about to fail. Aluminum holds the motor exactly where it should be.
Importantly, the motor plate features the same gearing range as the stock plate. Some aftermarket plates alter available gearing as a side effect of their design; this one does not, so it is purely a strength and precision upgrade rather than a trade-off.
Important: the aluminum motor plate requires installation of the included gear cover and will not work with the standard gear cover. The cover is supplied, so nothing extra is needed, but the original cover cannot be reused.
Aluminum also draws heat away from the motor better than composite, which helps on a small vehicle where there is little airflow around the drivetrain.
