Description
The Traxxas 10554 is a pair of replacement front stub axles.
The stub axle is the shaft the front wheel mounts to, running through the bearings in the steering block. It carries the entire load of the wheel and everything the tyre transmits into the car: cornering forces, impact shock, and the twisting loads generated under steering.
That makes it a component where damage is easy to miss. A bent stub axle does not always look obviously wrong, but it makes the wheel run out of true, which shows up as vibration at speed, uneven tyre wear, and bearings that fail far sooner than they should. It is worth checking after any significant front-end impact rather than assuming the visible parts tell the whole story.
Bearings ride directly on the stub axle surface, so its condition also determines how long those bearings last. A scored or worn axle chews through bearings repeatedly, and replacing the bearings alone without addressing the axle just repeats the failure.
Supplied as a pair, so both front corners are covered in a single part number. These are direct replacements for the factory parts and fit without modification.
