Description
The Traxxas 10543-BLUE is an aluminum bellcrank steering assembly that enhances the steering precision, strength, and looks of the 4-Tec Drift. It is machined from tough 6061-T6 aluminum with a brilliant hard-anodized finish that allows the bellcranks to pivot precisely for silky-smooth turning action.
This is a genuine upgrade over the standard composite assembly rather than a like-for-like replacement. Aluminum bellcranks resist the flex that plastic develops under steering load, and more importantly they do not wear at the pivot points the way composite does. That wear is what introduces steering slop over time, and on a drift car slop is the enemy: drifting is sustained fine correction held at the edge of grip, and any play in the linkage makes a consistent angle far harder to hold.
The hard-anodized surface is functional as well as cosmetic. It provides a hard, low-friction bearing surface at the pivots, which is why the action stays smooth rather than becoming notchy with use.
Bearings are included rather than bushings: 5x8 mm bearings (2) and 6x10 mm bearings (2), plus hardware. Running the bellcranks on bearings instead of plastic bushings is a meaningful step up in steering feel and longevity.
