Description
The Traxxas 10539-RED is a 4-Tec Drift aluminum rear shock tower made from tough 6061-T6 aluminum for extra strength and finished with brilliant anodized color for a touch of style. Includes 3x15 mm screws (2).
The rear shock tower carries the upper mounting points for the rear shocks, transferring every load the rear suspension generates into the chassis. On a drift chassis the rear end is doing the hardest work: it is continuously loaded and unloaded as the car is held sideways, and how consistently the rear suspension responds is central to whether an angle can be held.
A composite tower deflects as those loads build. Because the upper shock mount moves with it, damping behaviour changes under exactly the conditions where consistency matters most. An aluminum tower stays put, so the shocks operate through their intended geometry rather than a shifting one.
The tower also carries the mounting holes used to adjust shock position, which means its rigidity determines whether a setup change stays where it was made.
Note this is the rear tower only. The matching aluminum front tower is listed separately under 10538, so both part numbers are needed to cover the car. Mounting screws are included. Genuine Traxxas hop-up part for the 4-Tec Drift.
