Description
The Traxxas 10538-GRAY is a 4-Tec Drift aluminum front shock tower made from tough 6061-T6 aluminum for extra strength, finished with brilliant anodized color and the Traxxas logo for a touch of style. Includes 3x15 mm screws (2).
The front shock tower carries the upper mounting points for the front shocks, which means every load the front suspension generates passes through it into the chassis. It is also directly in the firing line during a front-end impact, making it one of the more commonly damaged structural parts on an on-road chassis.
Aluminum is a meaningful upgrade here rather than a cosmetic one. A composite tower flexes as suspension loads build, and that deflection moves the upper shock mount slightly, which changes damping behaviour and effective ride height under load. An aluminum tower holds its position, so the shocks work through the geometry they were set up with.
The tower also carries the mounting holes that let shock position be adjusted, so rigidity there translates directly into setup that stays where it was put.
Note this is the front tower only. Traxxas lists the rear aluminum tower separately under 10539, so covering both ends requires both part numbers. Mounting screws are included. Genuine Traxxas hop-up part.
