Description
The Traxxas 10532 is a replacement front splitter for the 4-Tec Nissan 240SX.
The splitter is the aerodynamic lip running along the bottom edge of the front bumper. It sits at the lowest, most forward point of the car, which means it makes contact with everything before the rest of the vehicle does: kerbs, barriers, other cars, and the ground whenever the chassis pitches forward.
That is exactly its job. The splitter is a sacrificial part, taking the scrapes and impacts that would otherwise reach the body itself. At a few dollars it is one of the cheapest components on the car, and replacing it is far preferable to damaging a painted 240SX shell.
It is also a defining visual element. The 240SX is a drift icon and the splitter is central to the aggressive low stance that look depends on, so a shell running without one looks incomplete.
Important fitment note: this is the 240SX splitter. Traxxas lists a separate front splitter for the Ford Mustang under part 10520, and they are not interchangeable despite carrying the same product heading on Traxxas' own site. Confirm which body you are running before ordering.
