Description
The Traxxas 10523 is a front clipless body latch for 10515-series 4-Tec Nissan 240SX bodies.
The clipless system does away with traditional body posts and clips, securing the shell at dedicated latch points instead. This is the front latch, holding the nose of the body in position through everything the front end encounters.
The front takes the majority of contact on any RC car. Barriers, kerbs, and other vehicles all arrive there first, and the latch is what stops the body lifting or being pushed backward on the chassis. A cracked front latch lets the nose float under load, which exposes the shell to tearing at the mounting point and eventually ruins a body that was otherwise fine.
Running clipless keeps the bodyline clean: nothing protrudes above the shell to snag or catch, and there are no clips to lose trackside. For a scale drift build that clean silhouette is a large part of the point, and it depends on the latches holding.
Fitment is specific to 10515-series 240SX bodies. The matching rear latch is listed separately under 10522, so covering both ends requires both part numbers. Genuine Traxxas replacement part for the 4-Tec Drift.
