Description
The Traxxas 10522 is a rear clipless body latch supplied with a 3x8 mm screw, for 10515-series 4-Tec Nissan 240SX bodies.
The clipless system replaces traditional body posts and clips with dedicated latches that secure the shell at fixed points. This is the rear latch, holding the back of the body down through every slide, transition, and impact.
On a drift car that load is constant. The body is thrown side to side continuously and all of that inertia is carried by the latches. When one cracks or works loose the shell begins moving on the chassis, which looks wrong and can let the body contact the rear tyres under compression.
The benefit of running clipless is a clean, uninterrupted bodyline. No tall posts poking through the shell, nothing to snag during contact, and no body clips to lose at the track. That silhouette is much of the appeal of a scale drift build, and it depends entirely on the latches doing their job.
