These 5-40 x 7/16 in socket head cap screws are the factory replacement hardware for the Team Associated RC10B4, B4.1, B4.2, RC10T4, T4.1, T4.2, T4.3, SC10, SC10B, SC10.2, SC10.3 Lucas Oil, and SC10.3 JRT.
Chassis screws lead a hard life. Heads get rounded by a worn hex driver, threads pick up dirt and stretch when a screw is run into a stripped hole, and any screw that has been through a big impact is worth retiring rather than reusing. A rounded head is the fastest way to turn a five minute repair into a drilling job at the track, which is why experienced racers keep fresh hardware on the bench.
These match the size and thread of the screws the car was built with, so they thread into the original locations with no modification and hold the same torque. Refreshing the hardware in high-load areas such as the bulkheads, suspension mounts, and transmission keeps the chassis tight and predictable, and a spare pack costs far less than a stripped part.
