Description
The Team Associated ASC92421 idler gear set contains the transmission idler gears for the RC10B7, RC10B7D and RC10B7.1D competition buggies. The idler gear sits between the top shaft gear and the differential gear inside the gearbox, transferring power through the transmission and setting the internal drive ratio of the gear train.
Idler gears run constantly under load and wear over time, particularly if dirt enters the gearbox or if a gear mesh is set too tight. Worn or chipped teeth cause noise, drivetrain drag and inconsistent power delivery, and eventually lead to a failure that ends a run.
This set is a direct replacement for the idler gears supplied with the kit and installs on the stock idler shaft and bearings during a normal transmission rebuild, following the kit manual. No modification is needed. Replacing the idler gear as part of a regular gearbox service keeps the drivetrain quiet and helps protect the differential and top shaft gears from uneven wear.
