Description
These side rails run along the edges of the chassis on the RC10B7 racing buggy. They stiffen the chassis along its length and provide a protective edge that takes the abrasion and impact that would otherwise reach the chassis plate itself during crashes and slides across the track surface.
Side rails serve a tuning function as well as a protective one. Because they add material along the outer edges of the chassis, they influence how much the chassis flexes through its length, and chassis flex affects how the car loads its tires, how it handles bumps, and how much grip it generates on a given surface. Damaged or worn rails should be replaced so chassis stiffness stays consistent from run to run.
The rails fit the RC10B7 and RC10B7D. They install as direct replacements in the stock chassis locations using the factory hardware, with no modification required. Because they sit in the impact path, side rails are worth carrying as a routine spare for race weekends.
