Description
This is the main chassis plate for the RC10B74.2 four-wheel-drive buggy. The chassis is the foundation of the car: it locates the front and rear gearboxes, the bulkheads, the battery and electronics, and the suspension mounts, and it sets the reference geometry that every other component on the car is aligned to.
Chassis condition has a direct effect on how the car drives. A plate that has been tweaked or bent in a crash pulls the gearboxes and suspension mounts out of alignment, which produces a car that handles differently from left to right, wears drivetrain components unevenly, and cannot be corrected with setup changes. Replacing a damaged chassis is the only way to restore the intended geometry.
This chassis fits the RC10B74.2 and RC10B74.2D. It is a direct replacement for the original plate and accepts all of the factory hardware, mounts, and drivetrain components during the rebuild. Many racers keep a spare chassis on the shelf so a second car can be built up or a damaged one rebuilt quickly.
