Description
This is the lightweight replacement body shell for the RC10B74 platform. It uses the same shape as the standard shell but is produced in a thinner gauge, which reduces the weight carried high on the car. It ships unpainted and untrimmed, so the shell is cut to the marked lines, the body post and antenna holes are opened, and paint is applied to the inside surface.
The body fits the RC10B74, RC10B74.1, RC10B74.1D, RC10B74.2, and RC10B74.2D 1:10 scale 4WD off-road buggies, mounting on the stock body posts with no modification.
Racers choose a lightweight shell to take mass out of the highest point on the buggy, which lowers the effective center of gravity and slightly reduces overall weight. The trade-off is durability, since a thinner shell will crack sooner than the standard body in heavy crashes. That makes this a racing option rather than a general-purpose replacement. Trimming and painting are required before it can be fitted to the car.
