Description
The motor mount holds the motor to the transmission on the RC10B74 platform. It clamps the motor can in the correct position relative to the spur gear, and the slotted mounting holes allow the motor to be rotated to set gear mesh before the fasteners are tightened.
It fits the RC10B74, RC10B74.1, RC10B74.1D, RC10B74.2, and RC10B74.2D 1:10 scale 4WD off-road buggies and is a direct replacement for the mount supplied in those kits. It installs in the stock transmission location with no modification required.
Beyond holding the motor, the mount is part of how heat leaves the motor can, and it takes chassis flex and driveline load in normal running. A mount that has been damaged in a crash or worn at the clamp face can allow the motor to shift under power, which upsets the gear mesh and leads to noisy running and accelerated wear on both the pinion and the spur gear. Replacing it restores a solid, repeatable mesh setting.
